Home again, Home again, Jiggety jig jig

Well, we made it back to the casa….4,750 miles later!

Another great trip with rotinipoker.wordpress.com.  We spent time with her folks and saw a lot of places we haven’t seen before.  Lot’s of new adventures and fun.

Now it’s time to return to our responsible lives.  No more living life at our pace for a while.

Beastie Boy kept us safe and trouble free for the trip.  I still feel that the purchase of my 2007 1/2 Chevy Silverado extended cab, long bed with the Duramax was one of the best decisions I have made.  The fuel savings over the trip were great, as diesel was cheaper than regular gasoline.  He hauled all of our gear and never had a single complaint over the length of the trip.  We certainly could have made the trip in either the Tahoe or the Honda but I think the choice of the Beast was the right choice.

We arrived home to E having a terrible cold which kept her down and as much as it pained her, she had to call in sick for the first two days she would have been back to work.  I went to work on my scheduled Monday (Sunday for the rest of the world) and had the pleasure of working with one of our new hires at my job.  Then it was up early on Monday (actually Monday in everyone else’s world) to start a new adventure.  You can read all about it in another post.

Back to our routines…..Chevy the cat is happy to have us home and can’t seem to quit trying to plaster himself on one of us (the cat who hates to be near humans).  He calls through the house if he doesn’t see us.  Taylor comes home today(Tuesday) from his Grandma’s house.  Yard mowed (when we left it was in brown hibernation, now it’s green and 8 inches tall), garden getting cleaned up.  tasks that have been waiting for us to return home getting done.  Time to buckle down and save money for our next adventure.

The only draw back to the trip was that daughter Tyna and her husband Everest were unable to meet us in Vegas for a planned holiday.  Tyna had the engine in her car blow up and they had to spend the money saved for holiday on a new car.  We will plan another holiday with them for 2016 and hope that life doesn’t get in the way.

Follow along as the year moves along.
