Custer State Park part deux

Here we are at Custer State Park in South Dakota. Second largest state park in the contiguous 48 states (there is a dispute whether Adirondack is really largest because of the multiple entitities that pull it together along with some private ownership).

71,000 Acres of verdant country where, around every corner, there is water with trout waiting to be caught, Animals to be discovered and new vistas to be taken in.

The company wanted Erin here early (we arrived in the park a month earlier than most of the seasonal workers) and so my work was spotty at best as I helped do maintenance and spruce up the park prior to opening. Erin learned her job in a matter of hours and is thriving in the work environment. She comes home and is often baffled that no-one has yelled at her or called her names on the phone. This customer base actually thanks her for helping them! I, on the other hand, was entered into the spring spruce up health and fitness club while waiting on formal training for my job as a Jeep Safari driver. This club consists of all the manual labor about the park from raking leaves and power washing decks to removing fallen trees and trying to help make golf carts run.

The views around the park are fabulous and the animal residents tend to keep us on our toes here in the RV parking area.
