My name is Jeff and I go by the handle “bigfokkerdog”.  This is not a self description,  it was my working dog’s name.  He was a Belgian Malinois who was a retired police canine.  He and I were together for 13 years before I lost him.  This moniker is a tribute to him https://bigfokkerdog.com/taylord-fokker/.

E and I both retired early in the fall of 2022 and decided to swallow the cool-aid.  We sold the Sticks and Bricks house and are now a part of the Bougie Homeless (living in Rv’s, non-druggie with incomes) crowd. We moved into our fifth wheel and have postal boxes for addresses. We travel as we want and where we desire with no time frame to get anywhere. We are often found in the National park system and other public lands as well as state, county, regional, and city parks hiking and recreating. We are denizens of the west and can often be found in Las Vegas and Reno.

You are likely to read about a night of poker playing, travelling, or my rants.  Most of the blog will be focusing on the outdoors in some shape or fashion.

We are both contributors of photographs using cell phones, a GoPro Hero 7, and a Canon EOS Rebel SL2.  I take all credit for photos, good and bad. There might even be some shots from my UAV sometimes.

A few terms that are common in here:

E refers to my wife.

BFD is me.

Angry Bird is my wife’s wicked looking car. This is her daily driver and our go to vehicle if we don’t need Karl for his specialized skillset.

Karl is our 2022 GMC 3500HD DRW Denali in Pacific Blue.  He has an 8 foot bed, 25K fifth wheel hitch, and a tonneau cover and is our work horse.   Per E’s edict, no dead animals are allowed in Angry Bird, so all hunting/gathering and off road adventuring is done with Karl.

Piper was our 2007 Forest River Sandpiper F295, our first fifth wheel used for vacations, which we traded in on Bebop.

Bebop was our 2022 Vanleigh Beacon 41FL 5th wheel.  Bebops’ job was that of rolling home.  Read https://bigfokkerdog.com/the-shakedown-trip-part-1/ and https://bigfokkerdog.com/tiffin-service-at-its-best-bebop-gets-fixed/

Our newest edition is called “One Time”. This is our 2023 Grand Design Solitude 310GK. This fifth wheel is our end point. We traded Bebop in because it was waaaay too big. We travel more than originally anticipated and need a smaller rig to get into those places we really want to go to. We searched and after much consideration found, what we think, is the perfect compromise of size and comfort.

If you see us out there, stop and say hi!

Jeff
